Located in Mawei District, Fuzhou City, the birthplace of Chinese shipping culture, the Shipping School is a provincial public secondary school with a long history of operation, which was reopened in 1978, carrying out academic education and training at the same time. For years, it insists on existence with the quality and development with the special feature, continuously conveying shipping talents for the global shipping industry.

Complete facilities and equipment. It has the most advanced large ship maneuvering simulator and engine simulator in China; it has built the driving platform of "Yunyang"; it has 105,000-ton bulk carrier as students' practice base; it has all kinds of laboratories and operation rooms, which create good conditions for students' training.

Strong faculty. The teaching team of the school is composed of senior crew members who have graduated from maritime colleges and have many years of experience in ocean shipping, establishing a "double-teacher" teaching team and practicing the teaching concept of "modern apprenticeship".

Distinctive characteristics. The school attaches great importance to the moral and quality education of students and trainees, and employs excellent retired military personnel as instructors stationed in the school 24 hours a day and implements semi-military management. With good school spirit and excellent quality, the school has been awarded as an advanced education unit for many years.

Cultivate shipping talents. The school is one of the first pilot units of Fujian Maritime Bureau to conduct "examination first and assessment later", and implement the mode of  "school-enterprise cooperation", "connection of secondary and higher vocational education", "order-based cultivation", "3+2" cultivation and so on.
